So if you’ve read my post on how to use Tailwind to grow your blog. Then you’re probably wondering when I’m going to address Tailwind tribes. Well, today is that day! Not only am I going to answer the question of what are Tailwind Tribes. But I’m also going to explain how to share to Tailwind Tribes, and how to find the best Tribes for you.
Essentially Tailwind Tribes are incredibly similar to group boards. Just better! Each tribe is a community of pinners in the same niche. For instance you could have a tribe on SEO tips, or free blogging resources etc.
You use tribes as you would do with group boards. So you share your own content there for other Pinners to re-pin. With the expectation that you’ll do the same by pinning other Pinner’s content from the tribe. So let’s get started shall we?
HOW TO SHARE A PIN TO YOUR TRIBES
You share a pin to your tribes in exactly the same way you add it to your queue. So you want to find to:
- Find the pin that you want to use
- Select the ‘Add to Tribes’ button
- Choose which tribe to share your pin to and then click ‘Add to Tribe’
Use the red exclamation point to see when was the last time you added this link to your tribes, if it was with a different image and when it was added. This helps you avoid duplicating pins too often.
Just to note though. That the amount of monthly tribe submissions you’ll have depends on your membership level. But if you choose to go over your set amount, then you can purchase PowerUps.
HOW TO FIND MY BEST TRIBES
Well, first up, you will need to be on Tailwind. And if you haven’t just joined up. You can sign up for a free trial here to start exploring tribes in your niche.
Next when looking for tribes, you want to find one that has high engagement. You can click on the ‘preview tribe’ button to see how active it is. And if they have good re-share and re-pin metrics.
A little tip would be to really consider your niche and your audience when it comes to tribes. As often, it’s better to join a smaller tribe that is in your niche. Then to join a larger but more generic tribe
DON’T FORGET TO EVALUATE YOUR TRIBES
Once you’ve been a tribe member for a while, you want to make sure that you’re evaluating the stats to ensure it’s still a good fit for you.
You can do this by using the information on the Tribes page, under the tribe’s description, You can then look at the content you’ve been sharing. See what has been re-shared the most. And continue to share the types of pins that have done well for you in the past.
